Fuchsia

A friend and fellow teacher said she had some beautiful roses in her garden, and wondered if I would photograph them for her. Sure. So I shot most of a roll; her roses were indeed beautiful. On some of the shots I held a length of black velvet behind the flower to eliminate the background.

I had one shot left. I noticed a hanging basket of fuchsia. So I finished off the roll by shooting it.

It turned out to be one of the best photos technically and artistically that I have ever taken.
