The Oakland Temple gave me the impression of the Taj Mahal upon first seeing it. The grounds are absolutely lovely. The building has an oriental motif and the spires a lattice construction unique among LDS temples. The detail, such as the bas relief above, is exquisite, as it is on all the temples I have visited.The Oakland Temple, the fifteenth largest, was dedicated in 1964.
