Rhode Island State House

Rhode Island State Capitol

I was really looking forward to visiting the Rhode Island State Capitol in Providence; I had been there before in the 1970's, and remembered it as being exceptionally beautiful, especially inside.

Rhode Island State Captiol

Disappointment! It was raining, the grounds were deserted, and the building was locked up tight. Bummer! Not only that, but the building itself looked dirty, and the patio in front had chipped bricks and uneven tiles.

State of disrepair

Then I got to the door. Heavens! It looks like it has not been maintained for years and years. And the light fixture below was torn up. I can't believe this.
State of disrepair

What is happening to my country? Won't even keep monumental government buildings in good repair? My goodness. Time to get some new politicians, I think.
