Mount Rainier National Park features the tallest volcano in the lower 48 states, Mount Rainier, a huge pile of rocks, frozen mud, and ice and snow; it could melt and run downhill at any time, burying the surrounding lowlands thirty feet deep with less than an hour's notice.
