Bickleton Bluebirds
Millions of bluebirds make their home in Bickleton. You see them flying around everywhere you look. I know from previous experience that trying to photograph birds on the fly is an exercise in futility, so I settled for this birdhouse, one of hundreds and hundreds lining the fields hereabouts.
Getting to Bickleton is easy enough. From the Lewis and Clark Trail highway (SR 14) you turn north at the Roosevelt Grade road sign at Roosevelt; stay on the pavement for about 20 miles and there you are. Or you can go east from Goldendale.
| You may buy the Columbia River Gorge CD, which has on it all of the Gorge photos on this site, plus many more of Don's Columbia River Gorge photos, in a larger size -- about 925 altogether -- suitable for viewing full screen or printing your own enlargements. |
